I am originally from Troop 45 in Savanna, Illinois, where I earned my Eagle Scout in 1970.
In 1971 I was junior staff at Canyon Camp, and in 1972 on the aquatics staff at Camp Lowden.
My best memories, although they were all great, were counseling the Dixon State School Scouts,
the canoe trips to Grand Detour, and participating in the Ordeal ceremonies! I have been a teacher in Plano CUSD since 1978. When I first came to Plano I became Assistant Scoutmaster but left to be head football coach and head track coach at Plano High School. This year [2004] my son has turned 11 and came into the troop (71). I had just planned to be part of the Troop Committee but with my history in Scouting they asked me to take the duties of Scoutmaster. Tim Tyler |
